State Inspection Completed

New Hampshire State officials visited Windsor Hills Camp and Retreat Center on July 28, 2003 to inspect the facility for compliance with state regulations. All facets of the operation were inspected, including cabins, kitchen, waterfront, emergency health facilities, drinking water, and program. The inspector was on the facility for several hours completing the lengthy checklist and spoke with Executive Director Dan Whitney for about a half hour.

After a thorough review, WHC&RC was awarded a rating of “Excellent”, which is the highest rating possible. The camp has made good progress in updating fire safety equipment, sewage and grey water removal systems, and has complied with all pertinent regulations. In addition, the inspector wrote on the form under comments, “Super clean kitchen”. There were no negative comments noted on the form at all!

We tip our hats to the entire staff, and especially to cooks Tomm Fish, Martha Wilson and Noel Cooper.

Summer Fundraiser in Process: There is still time!

About $1500 has been received to date to support the cabin fund at the camp. Parents receiving child tax rebates from the government were challenged to invest half of their refund to help replace cabins lost in the snow collapses of two winters ago. If you are interested in supporting this fund, please write “Cabin fund” on the memo line of your check, and mail to Windsor Hills, 29 White Pond Road, Windsor, NH 03244.
