Camp Log: 8-1-2004 Chaos! Nancy where are you?

Of course, there is no time for deep reflection during the summer. My “to do” list far exceeds the limits of my memory; most of the items will have to wait for September. Part of my insanity comes from the absence of Nancy Willette in the office. So many things never came to my attention because Nancy quietly cared for them. What a great gift that was!

Now, as I pause for thirty seconds to jot a note, I realize that God has cared for me in similar ways. Gerald and Ninetta Eddy showed up at the beginning of the camp season to help wherever they were able. They knew Nancy was leaving. They thought I might need help. So they called, and came, and worked – worked hard. Even before I asked for help, they were here helping. How cool is that?

It increases my faith to know that God is so in touch with my needs that he can answer prayers before I pray them . . . while they are still just an unconscious need inside my head or a future bump on a road I have not yet taken.

I am grateful to God for the Eddys . . . and for the Driscols and the Sainsburys and all the others who worked so hard to get this place ready this year. And I am grateful for Nancy Willette, who took care of things before they ever came to my attention.
