The Scope of our Mission
Windsor Hills is dedicated to the
mission of the Church of Jesus Christ as expressed through
the Church of the Nazarene. The church's motto is
"Making Christ-like Disciples in the Nations." Everything
that happens on the grounds of Windsor Hills is consistent
with this mission.
Christian camping and retreating are
the vehicles we use to pursue this mission. Each summer, the
New England District Church of the Nazarene holds five
summer camps on this facility: Family Camp, Boy's Camp
and Girl's Camp (grades 3-6), Junior High Camp (Grades 7-9)
and Senior High Camp (Grades 10-12). In addition, the
facility is used by other Christian Churches for their own
camping programs.
The remainder of the year focuses on Christian Retreating
programs. While the activities and target groups for
each retreat vary, the constant thread running through all
of them is the Christian message of hope in Jesus Christ.
Whether we are talking about Jesus while we swim in the
lake, stitch quilts, meet together in small prayer groups,
or play basketball in the gym, Jesus remains the center of
all we do. Windsor Hills is available for use by other
Christian groups by advance agreement.
We believe that Windsor Hills is sacred space for Christians
who want to listen for the voice of God. To that end,
we endeavor to minimize distractions for folks who are
involved in the programs. The inn rooms and dorm rooms
do not have televisions or telephones. Cell phone
reception isn't very good. We pray that we will be tuned
into a different frequency when we are on these grounds!
The programs of the camp are open to everyone, and
applications are available on this website. We ask all
persons on the grounds to conform to a specific covenant of
conduct while they are on the premises, so that our
community can live harmoniously together.
Volunteers are needed to support the ongoing ministries of
the organization. You can volunteer by sending email
to Executive Director Rev. Richard Smith.
